Join SGX’s Bull Charge 2011 charity run
Singapore Exchange (SGX) is once again rallying its listed companies and Singapore’s financial industry to raise funds for charity at The Bull Charge.
Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister of State for Finance and Transport, will be the Guest of Honour.
To be held on Friday, 11 November, the 5km scenic run will be flagged off at 4.30pm from The Float @ Marina Bay. The route will include the Marina Bayfront and a section of the Helix Bridge to the Singapore Flyer.
This is the eighth consecutive year that SGX is organizing The Bull Charge. The funds will go towards specific projects benefitting children, youth, elderly and families in need.
These charities are:
- Autism Youth Centre by Autism Association
- Care Corner Family Service Centre
- Community Rehab and Help Me Go Home Programme by Tan Tock Seng Community Charity Fund
- Lions Befrienders Service Association
- Shared Services for Charities
The event highlight is the Chief Challenge where SGX CEO, Mr Magnus Bocker, will run with corporate chiefs along the Marina Bayfront. Mr Bocker has offered to match dollar for dollar donations made by any corporate chief who joins him in the run.
He said, “We are heartened that many companies in the financial industry have asked about the Bull Charge and are looking forward to participating at this year’s event. I hope my offer to match donations will strongly encourage more corporate chiefs to step forward and lead the run for charity.”
The event itself will also feature popular races like the Management Team Relay and the new Bull Challenge, a water activity at the Marina Bayfront.
Over the past seven years, The Bull Charge has raised more than S$16 million for various charities.
More information will be available on http://bullcharge.sg from Monday, 29 August 2011.
